Your Home Gone Solar

The first question to ask yourself about going solar in your place of residence is WHY?
There are many benefits the main of them being:
  • SUSTAINABILITY!!- The whole point of solar power is drawing energy from the sun. Perhaps hte number one natural resource available to us.
  • Easy to install.
  • Cost-Efficient- There are many government rebate programs once you have installed solar panels on your home. You will save money on costly energy bills and excess energy can be sold back to the power company.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Long lasting.

To begin using solar power in the home you will have to install solar panels to a spot on your home where the sun shines freely. The one pitfall to this is that this can get quite costly. They range from 2,000 dollars to upwards of 10,000. However, the big payoff is listed above!

  1. I agree with all of the benefits of beginning to use solar power in your home. Many people are unaware of how easy it is to begin using solar power and what the pay off is. After overcoming the initial cost, which can be pricey, I have heard of people saving lots of money because the panels are such long lasting. I believe that many more people would consider installing solar panels in their home if they knew such benefits as sustainability, easy installation, and cost efficiency. It is time to start thinking about alternative ways of energy and solar energy is one very important way.

  2. It is true the saving can be substantial. we bought our system 8 years ago for $30,000 - 20 in state and federal rebates (Nice). after 5 years we recouped our investment. Now with the new panel technology we are planing on adding more for a small price... I have even seen some communities that are going solar... And then we want an electric car...

  3. I think it is good that you listed the expected costs of converting to solar power because I believe that could be part of why people are discouraged in the first place. It is nice to know that the payoff will come much sooner than expected. And, it was nice to know more detail about the different types of panels that could be used.
