Solar Powered Computing

To make the ability to access computers easier Scott Johnson of GNUveau Networks is reducing the wattage that the average computer would need by making them solar powered! Why not access the most accessible resource (THE SUN!) to make the computer more available in areas that do not necessarily have the infrastructure to support the standard computer. He builds these computers out of Daytona, Florida and already has provided some remote areas in Africa with his services.

  1. Tell me more! What dos the mean for these people... If accesss to information to the internet and computers is important why? Can I sell them something or do they have something to sell me?

What about the $100 computer for kids and education how is this different for that crank powered computer?

  3. I believe that a majority of what the computer was for was connecting with these otherwise unreachable places on the earth in attempts to more easily cure disease and provide them with food and fresh water. I could see where some could argue that this may be a faulty plan, for the people may not have any interest in becoming technologically connected, or they may not know how to work these in the proper way. But, I think that the idea has a lot of growth potential.

P.S. Maybe his plan already failed and he does sleep in the park by your house!
